Maddie's Place Collaboration

Mt. Spokane Pediatrics is honored to be partnered with Maddie’s Place: a non-profit recovery nursery for substance-exposed infants together with loving, wraparound support for their caregivers. The approach for Maddie’s Place emphasizes low-intervention, nurturing care, focusing on supporting parent-infant bonding to alleviate symptoms of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). This philosophy, which is both evidence-based and cost-effective, significantly reduces hospital costs and Morphine use, resulting in healthier, happier babies and stronger attachments.

Mt. Spokane Pediatrics is proud to say our owner, Jeff Schilt (DNP, ARNP, PMHS), serves as a provider at Maddie’s Place. Mt. Spokane Pediatrics’ belief that each child deserves access to the best diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of childhood disease aligns with the work Maddie’s Place does to help babies in our community who are experiencing withdrawal symptoms. By combining the expertise of both facilities, the collaboration aims to break down barriers and ensure these infants receive the care they need for a brighter, healthier future.
