Behavioral Health
Our office provides care to children facing behavioral challenges and mental health conditions such as attention deficit disorder (ADD), oppositional defiance disorder (ODD), anxiety, and depression. Our providers are also certified to evaluate children for autism and refer to ABA therapy if needed.
What to expect
An initial evaluation with one of our providers may last up to 45 minutes. The provider will observe visible concerns and discuss behavior in detail with you and your child, as well as environmental questions regarding home and school, diet, overall health, and parenting techniques which have or have not helped your child. They may provide written assessments for you (as the parent or guardian) and potentially the child’s teacher as well in order to acquire a better understanding of your child’s needs and behavior.
Treatment
Depending on your child’s needs, treatment may incorporate either a referral to a local counselor experienced with children or medication, or a combination of both. For more intensive treatment, we may also refer to local child psychiatrists in the area.
