Vera Shevchenko comes from a large, bilingual Ukrainian/Russian family with eight siblings—five sisters and two brothers. Her supportive parents inspired her to pursue a lifelong career in nursing, ultimately becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Vera’s passion for helping others began at a young age, influenced by her mother, a former nurse in Ukraine, who always demonstrated a deep commitment to caring for those in need.
After high school, Vera started her journey as an in-home caregiver, providing care to individuals of various ages with unique medical needs, all while working towards her nursing degree. Over the past 17 years, she has had the privilege of working with both older adults and children of all ages. She attended Sumner College for her nursing degree and graduated from the United States University as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2023.
Vera is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of children, incorporating a holistic approach to their medical needs. She strives to ensure that both children and their parents feel comfortable in the clinical setting, recognizing that visiting a primary care provider can be a vulnerable experience. Whether children are sick or just in for a check-up, Vera understands the importance of involving parents in the decision-making process and values their input to ensure the continued health and well-being of their child.
Outside of the clinic, Vera enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children. They love going to the gym and exploring the great outdoors through activities like running, hiking, fishing, camping, and taking long walks together on pleasant days.
