Leah comes to Mt. Spokane Pediatrics as the newest member of providers on our team. She brings 14 years of nursing experience, most of which have been with newborns and laboring mothers. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from WSU’s Intercollegiate College of Nursing in 2005. After settling into motherhood with her young family, it was clear to her she still had purpose to serve, and sought out her Master’s degree in family practice. Completing her degree in 2019, she brings broad scope to our practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Leah’s career background includes two years as an RN in oncology, followed by 12 years of labor and delivery with postpartum care. She has had the honor of meeting many of our families before coming to Mt. Spokane Pediatrics, as a key player in the newborn experience. Now as a provider herself, she is thrilled to bring her vast knowledge of newborns and the postpartum period. She views helping new and experienced families as a gift and hopes to help continue her impact by bringing education, research, and specialized care for each and every family she meets.
With a special love for behavioral health and holistic care, Leah values parents’ desire for the best options available for their children. Leah believes there are many ways conditions can be treated and is available to offer a treatment plan ranging from holistic to medication if necessary. Leah shares Mt. Spokane Pediatrics’ strong value for patient-family centered care and has spent much of her experience practicing just this, hoping to make every family feel heard and satisfied with every provider encounter. Her professional background has helped Leah to reach her own personal goals and to continue thriving for more as she brings quality care to our practice.
Leah enjoys almost any outdoor activity, especially camping, boating, lake time and biking. She is also an avid DIY’er. Living in Coeur d’Alene, she spends most of her time raising her son and daughter and loves to focus her energy on memory making with them any chance she gets. Watching them thrive is her favorite past-time. Leah attributes her love for pediatric care to her children and the joy they bring her. Knowing that parenting can be challenging, she hopes to help ease the way to maximize family function.
