Jola Grzybowski, M.S. CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist who recently relocated to Spokane from Chicago, Illinois. Jola attended Elmhurst College located in Elmhurst, Illinois while completing her undergraduate and graduate coursework. She received her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in May of 2016 from Elmhurst College. Jola was awarded her Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association in March of 2017 after completing her clinical fellowship.
Prior to joining the team at Mt. Spokane Pediatrics, Jola worked as a speech-language pathologist at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, located in Chicago. She treated both pediatric and adult patients within the acute, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient settings. Jola independently managed the pediatric caseload within the outpatient clinic and assisted in expanding the therapy program. She served pediatric patients between the ages of 3 through 16 years old with a wide range of diagnoses, including expressive/receptive language delays, social/pragmatic language disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, fluency impairment, childhood apraxia of speech and motor speech disorders. She also served as the lead voice therapist and closely collaborated with the primary Otolaryngologist to treat voice disorders and ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) within the clinic.
Growing up in a bilingual Polish-English speaking household, Jola always knew she wanted to pursue a career with a focus on linguistics. Jola is passionate about the patients she serves and enjoys seeing them reach milestones, learn, and grow in their communication abilities. She believes in expanding speech and language skills through imagination and play!
In her spare time, Jola enjoys traveling, cooking and hiking with her husky-mix, Koda.
