Mariah Schreven, DNP, ARNP, CPNP-PC

Dr. Mariah Schreven, DNP, ARNP, CPNP-PC recently achieved her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner after receiving her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from University of Washington. Mariah’s research focused on implementing an evidence-based toolkit for medical providers to better assess and manage sleep in pediatric primary care. She also received special training in pediatric asthma and pulmonology at Seattle Children’s Hospital through the Pediatric Pulmonary Center grant. She is Board Certified in primary care through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) and is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP).

Before joining the team at Mt. Spokane Pediatrics, Mariah worked as a registered nurse in a variety of pediatric settings including: hematology-oncology; clinical research; gastroenterology; school-nursing; and instructing clinicals for aspiring nursing students. Mariah also spent a year volunteering as a nurse in Honduras, Central America where she gained valuable experience learning Spanish and providing culturally sensitive care.

Mariah is committed to helping each child live to their fullest potential through compassion, collaboration, joy, and excellence of care. While a senior in high-school, Mariah chose to become a pediatric nurse practitioner because she felt it would best equip her to advocate for children and their needs in challenging, interactive, and meaningful ways. She believes that parents, caregivers and the environment they provide are the most influential factors in the health of her patients. She is passionate about partnering with each family as they seek to provide the optimal environment for their children through good nutrition, sufficient sleep, active lifestyles, and positive interactions.

While away from work, Mariah enjoys nearly all things outdoors, including walking, hiking, biking, rock-climbing, and kayaking. She also enjoys reading, local coffee shops, and finding ways to make healthy food pass her husband’s taste tests! She and her husband, Jonathan, are excited to return to Spokane to be closer to family, friends, and especially their two adorable nieces.
